"Due to many requests to breed One Sure Thing to thoroughbred mares, we have made the decision that we will NOT be standing
him in Kentucky for the 2008 breeding season. Instead, we will be keeping him at home in TN so that he can remain
in training to aquire his ROM for full QH papers. One Sure Thing will stand the 2008 breeding season in Tennessee with
Hanes Performance Horses to a very limited number of select mares."
One Sure Thing is a 17.3 hand Appendix Huntseat Stallion. He is sired by the great and beautiful "Coats N Tails" a AQHA World and Congress Champion Hunter Under Saddle Horse. "Coats N Tails" is sired by the legendary "Invitation Only" an AQHA leading sire of Performance horses, his get have earned over 23,893 AQHA points 381 ROM's, 140 Superior Awards and over $1,488,000 in earnings in Western and Huntseat events!
"One Sure Thing's" dam, is named Niesquaw, a 16.2 hand gorgeous Thoroughbred mare that is a super flat kneed and sweepy mover! With this combination of parents it is no wonder that "One Sure Thing" or "Rave" as we call him, can move both Huntseat and go slow enough for the Western!!! "Rave" is very slow legged and soft when he is trotting slow (western style) and then can stretch out into that beautiful, classy, flat kneed trot for the Huntseat! His lope is soft and slow and balanced with a "Natural" head carriage. This stallion is a true "Gentle Giant" with a wonderful disposition that he is sure to pass on to his foals. Because "Rave" was so tall as a youngster it was decided to wait until he was three to break him. At that time he was 17.3 and mature. He was started under saddle and after being green broke was sent to a Professional training facility to start his show career. Everyone involved with this stallion was very excited about his future show career and his potential as a sire. After three weeks a call came in that "Rave" was found in his stall that morning with a swollen hock, was unable to stand on it, and was in alot of pain. He was rushed to "Performance Equine Veterinary Hospital", a very high tech and respected veterinary hospital where he was pronounced with a severe hock infection. This was a very unfortunate injury which has majorly set back his show career however, we look forward to working with him in the near future and trying to get him in the pen to earn his ROM for his full Quarter Horse Papers.
Because "Rave" was not shown he will only be able to be bred to AQHA "blue papered" mares or Appendix mares that have earned their "blue papers" by having 10 or more AQHA points. We will also offer him to APHA mares as well."Rave" is tested Homozygous for the Black Gene - he will NOT sire a "red" foal regardless of the color of the mare!
